South Yorkshire CU Launches ‘Think Climate!’ Initiative to Empower Future Eco-Champions
We’re thrilled to be supporting our schools to launch South Yorkshire CU’s brand new Project in a box ‘Think Climate!’ for the 2024-25 academic year!
Available exclusively to CU schools across the region, this amazing initiative brings fun, hands-on enrichment activities right into the classroom to help children and young people explore climate change and sustainability.
Inspiring activities include:
- Growing your own green roof tiles
- Building and racing reusable land yachts
- Investigating insulation with coffee cups
- Creating bath bombs with sustainable packaging
- Testing materials for eco-friendly school uniforms
- Whipping up a low-carbon ‘Planet Pizza’
Developing in collaboration with experts from Sheffield Hallam University – including Sustainable Schools Sheffield, Design Futures Packaging and the Civic University team – this project empowers our children and young people to think critically and take practical action for our planet.
We can’t wait to bring school staff together from Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley to receive training and resources this week, and look forward to news of the impact on our future South Yorkshire CU eco-champions!
