South Yorkshire Children’s University Celebrates a Successful Summer Graduation Season
The South Yorkshire Children’s University (CU) has wrapped up its summer graduation season, celebrating the accomplishments of over 600 young graduates across Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield, and the new CU centre in Barnsley. This joyous period marks the culmination of an unforgettable year filled with significant milestones and growth for the CU community.
Since its inception six years ago, South Yorkshire CU has experienced remarkable development, thanks in part to partnerships with Sheffield Hallam University and The University of Sheffield. This past academic year continued that trend with the launch of a new CU centre in partnership with Barnsley Council, involving pilot schools in the town centre cluster.
With over 33,000 children and young people across South Yorkshire already collecting CU credits for their extracurricular learning, the summer term provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate their achievements. Graduation ceremonies held in early July at Doncaster College, Wales High School, Barnsley Civic Hall, and Sheffield Hallam University enabled students to share their success with family, schools, and activity providers.
As South Yorkshire CU concludes this milestone year, it eagerly looks forward to the upcoming academic year 2024/25, anticipating further achievements and celebrations. CU community remains committed to fostering an environment where young learners can thrive and reach their full potential.
