Here at Hepp our mission is to make things easier for learners and potential learners in our region to find out everything they need to know in order to make informed choices about their future. In order to offer a single point of contact for the region, we work closely with lots of other fantastic organisations. It is vital that we all work together to improve the life chances of people living in our region, our friends below share these principles.
South Yorkshire Futures
South Yorkshire Futures is Sheffield Hallam University’s ground-breaking social mobility partnership programme. This flagship programme – supported by the Department for Education – works directly with the education sector, employers and others to improve attainment and aspirations for young people of all age groups, prioritising those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Careers & Enterprise Company & Sheffield City Region Enterprise Adviser Network
The Sheffield City Region Enterprise Adviser Network (SCR EAN), which is supported by the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) connects schools and colleges with employers and careers programme providers, supporting them to work together to provide young people with effective and high-quality encounters with the world of work. This helps them to be better informed of the opportunities in the local labour market, to make informed choices about their future and helps them to achieve their potential. The Enterprise Adviser Network have compiled a list of online resources, videos and virtual support around careers. This can be shared with students whilst they are at home and/or unable to benefit from more traditional employer encounters and experiences. You can find that list here.

The Careers & Enterprise Company have produced a ‘Making it meaningful’ checklist, which helps Career Leaders ensure each encounter or experience is meaningful for all participants and will ensure quality and consistency to the activity. You can find this here.

Finally, The Careers & Enterprise Company have now produced a resource directory and the “Careers in Context – can-do guide”, which has been developed in collaboration with the Gatsby Foundation.
The aim of the “Careers in Context – can-do guide” is to give Careers Leaders confidence and ownership about what they can build into their strategic plans this academic year. They also hope you and your networks of Enterprise Advisers, employers and other organisations will find the information provided useful when considering how to adapt the design of careers programmes in a way that meets the needs of young people during the current Covid-19 pandemic.
